Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student knows how to set up a project and the tasks of different parties.
The student understands the role of the project manager as the leader who is responsible for the project.
The student can prepare a project plan and a budget.
The student understands that in order to complete a project successfully, it is important to constantly monitor resources, costs and the schedule.
The student is familiar with risk management and can adjust plans when changes occur.
The student is able to collaborate with members of the construction site management team and supervise
different phases of construction during practical training.

Content

Setting up a project, creating a project plan and monitoring progress, defining phases, time management, resource allocation and management, cost control and optimization, risk and change management
Acting as a supervisor.
Basic human needs, well-being at work, sources of motivation and risks
Characteristics of organisations, efficient collaboration and interaction
Leadership models, supervision and critical situations
Best practices of leadership and collaboration on a construction site

The student can prepare a project plan and a budget.
The student can supervise workers during practical training

Assessment criteria, good (3)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can put together a project organisation and create task descriptions and is able to participate in solving conflicts in a positive way.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the requirements listed above, the student can prepare a project schedule, manage costs as well as risks and act as a project manager and can apply different styles of management depending on the situation in his or her practical training.
