Learning outcomes

Students
- can apply the theoretical and clinical competence required by the clinical practice environment to the nursing care of clients/patients

Content

Clinical Practice in nursing environment

Prerequisites

Theoretical studies related to clinical practice environment.
Basic knowledge of Pharmacotherapy and Dosage calculations.

Teaching methods

Supervision of clinical practice

Location and time

Practice weeks 1-5 at medical wards (5 weeks)
Mandatory participation in Practice orientation lecture (see the schedules) - held at school before practice starts
Mandatory participation in Practice seminar (see the schedules) - held at school in the middle of the practice.

Further information for students

Before the Clinical practice 1 you must complete:
1. Pharmacotherapy 1 with accepted drug calculations (100% correct).
2. The Basic practice of clinical nursing 1 & 2
3. Medical nursing theory, laboratories and simulation participated, + drug calculations accepted (100% correct).
4. Pharmacotherapy 2: Laboratories 1 & 2 participated + related theory.

Students are responsible for:
- Knowing clinical practice guidelines and requirements.
- Printing documents needed in clinical practice.
- Updating Jobiili CV and showing it for clinical practice mentor during the first days of the practice.
- Creating learning aims for clinical practice during the first days of the practice. Learning aims must be accepted by the clinical practice mentor and sent for the supervising teacher by the end of the first practice week.
- Handing in all practice documents for the supervising teacher immediately after the practice period.
