Objective

Students know the main developments in the history of the media forms that are relevant to their future profession. They understand the connections between the contemporary media environment and the history of media. They are able to critically assess the current state of their industry and its future prospects in relation to history.
Students are well versed in the main developments in the history of art. They know the trends in the history of Western art. They can analyze and critically evaluate works of art. They can see connections between the current media culture and art history.

• Main developments in the history of Finnish art
• Main trends and actors in art
• Relation of media and art to societal development and the general history of culture and ideologies
