Objective

After completing the course, the students are able to:
• perceive human physiology and thermal balance, and the requirements they set for clothing.
• research the specific requirements of functional clothing related to ergonomics, efficiency and the operation environment.
• understand the general requirements of work and protective clothing and describe their product safety standards.

Content

The thermal balance of the body and the importance of thermal regulation for a human being. The effect the garment has on thermal comfort, health, and performance. Layered clothing. Ergonomics of clothing. Basic problems in functional clothing. Standards and certification concerning work and protective clothing.
