Objective

After completing the course the students have an overview of Finnish media and culture scene. They have a basic knowledge of key institutions, works and artists in the fields of film, tv and media as well as other relevant fields of Finnis cultural scene, including but not limited to pictorial arts, design, architecture and music. They have a basic understanding of the relation of the Finnish media and culture to a larger European and internatíonal context.

The course consists of lectures and discussions, written material, assignments and visits to selected venues where students can get an insight into various aspects of Finnish culture and media.
