Objective

A student learns a basic concept of physics and natural sciences in order to understand physical and chemical phenomena related to the contents of his or her own professional field.
One of the main objects of the course is to develop the ability of solving natural scientific problems and learn to apply the physical and mechanical models in practical technical situations.

Content

1. Quantities, units and unit conversions
2. Motion in one dimension
3. Basics of Newtonian dynamics
4. Linear momentum
5. Work, energy, power and the coefficient of efficiency
6. Dynamics of circular motion
7. Kinematics and dynamics on rotational motion

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

A student knows the basic physical models and concepts included in the course and is able to solve and calculate simple tasks related to these models.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

A student can apply the basic physical models and concepts in simple technical problems.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

A student can apply and combine the basic physical models and concepts in more advanced technical problems

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

A student knows the basic physical models and concepts included in the course and is able to solve and calculate simple tasks related to these models.
