Learning outcomes
The student can plan learner-oriented and flexible one-to-one tuition alone and together with a peer group. The student can utilize typical teaching methods of music education and the one-to-one tuition of their own instrument. The student knows the basic ethical principles of teaching and is able to consider the diversity of learning processes in their actions. The student is able to articulate their observations of student performance, identify various aspects affecting musical interaction, and apply these factors to their teaching.
Content
Teaching ethics, emotional intelligence in teaching, pedagogical interaction, diversity of teaching and learning, observation of teaching and learning, ePortfolio, individual and collaborative reflection, one-to-one instrument teaching practice.
Prerequisites
The student is able to reflect on their own pedagogical path, strengths, knowledge and interaction skills, and is able to develop their competence and expertise in music pedagogy. The student recognizes aspects of pedagogical interaction and is familiar with various environments of instrument teaching. The student identifies different aspects of encountering and teaching people of diverse ages and abilities and is able to proceed to one-to-one teacher training.

OSA 2. INSTRUMENTTILUENNOT
- Kevään mittaan olevista instrumenttikohtaisista luennoista ja opetusharjoittelun järjestämisestä vastaa ja antaa lisätietoja kunkin instrumentin pedagogisista opinnoista vastaava opettaja. Kunkin instrumentin opettajan laatima luentoaikataulu löytyy työtilan etusivulla olevan Google Drive-linkin takaa. Mikäli oman instrumenttisi tiedot puuttuvat, ota yhteyttä instrumenttisi pedagogisten opintojen vastuuopettajaan.

- Opintojakson instrumenttiluentoihin kuuluu 3 observointitapahtumaa, joiden ohjeistuksesta, tehtävistä ja ajoituksesta vastaa instrumenttiluentojen opettaja/opettajat.
OSA 3 OPETUSHARJOITTELU
- Kevään aikana suoritettava opetusharjoittelu (13x45min.) tehdään yhden harjoitusoppilaan kanssa. Myös opetusharjoittelun järjestelyistä ja ajankohdasta sovitaan pedagogisista opinnoista vastaavan opettajan kanssa.
- Opetusharjoittelua ohjaava opettaja seuraa kevään aikana jokaisen opiskelijan opetusharjoittelua 6x45min ja käy jokaisen seuraamansa tunnin jälkeen 15 min. palautekeskustelun.
- Opiskelija pitää opetuksestaan päiväkirjaa. Päiväkirjapohja löytyy dokumentit -kansiosta.
- Opetusharjoittelun päiväkirjat palautetaan asianmukaisesti täytettyinä opetusharjoittelun päätyttyä, mutta viimeistään 13.5. sähköisessä muodossa Kimmo Saloselle: kimmo.salonen@metropolia.fi
