Objective

Students know the concepts of graphic design and typography and they are aware of the special requirements of various graphic design products. Students are able to communicate with images, text and their joint effect and they can use tools for professionals. Students can apply their graphic design skills in practice.

- History of graphic design and typography
- Understanding the visual communication industry and the job description of a graphic designer
- Idea generation and problem solving skills
- Basic concepts and rules of typography
- Stylistic and technical criteria for selecting a typeface

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student knows the concepts of visual design and typography and is able to outline the special requirements of different visual products. The student is able to communicate with images, text, motion graphics and their interaction, and use tools for professional use. The student is able to apply one’s visual design skills in practice. The student completes the given tasks successfully. The student knows the main contents of the course.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student is familiar with the concepts of visual design and typography and outlines the special requirements of different visual products. The student is able to communicate with images, text, motion graphics and their interaction, and use tools for professional use. The student is able to apply one’s visual design skills in practice. The student actively participates in teaching. The student performs the given tasks independently, showing initiative. The student masters the contents of the course and applies what one has learned to one’s own work. The student is able to acquire information independently.
