Objective

The students can break down key means of expression in cinematography, sound and editing from an existing film. The students are familiar with key theories of audiovisual storytelling and expression. They can do a small analysis of an audiovisual work. They know key theories of image and sound analysis. The students know theoretical principles of acoustics and understands the role of acoustics in different environments. The students know the process of cinematography, sound and editing from pre-production to production and post-production and deepen their understanding in accordance with their personal professional orientation.

The students can shoot, light and record sound with different equipment and take into account the requirements of different shooting situations. They can plan shooting, editing and sound work. They can break down the script from the point of view of image and sound. They know the fundamentals of budgeting and can estimate the needed equipment in relation of the entire production. They can work as a part of the camera and sound crew. They can do image editing and execute the post-production process of image and sound. They master the image and sound expression and can apply their skills in productions. They can present the key ideas of their image and sound scheme to others. The students can execute a practice project in their respective professional roles as cinematographer, editor, sound engineer or sound designer.

Approval needs 100 % presence. In case of sickness, 20 % absence is approved, which possibly has to compensate with extra tasks.
