Objective

The student learns to predict the societal, social, economic and political factors that affect the operational environment of cultural management. The student receives current information about the new, multidisciplinary, multicultural and innovative operational models of cultural management, knows how to analyze their effects and is able to utilize them in their expert work.

Having completed this course, the student is able to:

- Acquire and critically analyze information that affects the current situation as well as the future, from the perspective of various fields.
- Predict the effects of internationalization and the possibilities it provides in their own area of expertise.
- Utilize the information necessary for processing changing operational environments in developing their own work.

Content

- The social and operational innovations that affect the development of the cultural field.
- Multidisciplinary and multiprofessional approaches, in addition to networks functioning as the manager’s operational environments.
- Monitoring and participating in the public discussion on cultural policies.
- The international operating field in one’s own area of expertise.
- Analysis on the current situation of cultural management’s operational environment.
- Expert seminars.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

- Students know the social and operational innovations that support the development of the cultural field.
- Students are aware of the political and multidisciplinary public discussion related to the field.
- Students are able to superficially analyze the factors affecting the development of the cultural field, and utilize the information in their own work.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

- Students are able to examine both analytically and critically the social and operational innovations supporting the development of the field, and to develop their own work based on these examinations.
- Students are very familiar with the field-related discussions on both national and international levels, as well as the factors connected with predicting multidisciplinary operational models.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

- Students are very familiar with the public discussion on cultural management on both the national and international levels, and participate in it actively.
- Students are able to create self-imposed operational models, which show the students’ ability to utilize existing information on the changing operational environments in developing the field.

- Students know the social and operational innovations that support the development of the cultural field.
- Students are aware of the political and multidisciplinary public discussion related to the field.
- Students are able to superficially analyze the factors affecting the development of the cultural field, and utilize the information in their own work.
