Objective
The aim of the course is to develop student’s written expression to the professional- and expert positions level as well as to increase the student’s understanding about the rapidly envolving technology and it’s resulting changes concerning the cultural field. The student is able to write factual texts which are relevant to producer’s work and to understand the forming of cultural and artistic field’s key journalistic texts. The student trains in language use, working with text and interpretation as well as the enrichment of his/her own expression. He/she knows the basics of reporting/PR, it’s tool and compilation of the information registers. The student masters the drawing up of event’s PR plan in Finnish and English. The student is able to build and manage the producer’s work’s media relations.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student writes a variety of his/her field’s factual texts and knows cultural field’s different journalistic text types. The student understands the different stages of the information/PR process. The student is able to draw up a Web page and understand the basics of the electronical communication.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student writes well a variety of his/her field’s factual texts as well as the main journalistic texts. The student is able to develop his/her own writing based on the feedback. The student pays attention to grammar as well as to the text’s style. The student is able to plan a information/PR process in Finnish and English. The student is able to design a simple web site to serve the communicative goals.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student writes fluently and with correct language his/her field’s different factual texts and applies this expertise when working with the cultural field’s main journalistic texts. He/she knows how to create independently a variety of cultural producer’s factual texts as well as to create interesting-, readerminded angles. The student masters the smooth running of information/PR in different stages both in Finnish and English. The student is able to use a wide range of network communication while making PR.
