Objective
The course follows on from the Autumn semester course (M&O1) and further develops some of the key issues relating to management and organisations. After an initial review of the concepts covered in the Autumn, there will be a specific contemporary focus on the application of HR management functions in organisations.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Clearly see how the primary HR aspects of all organisations have a relationship with and in some respects are rooted to the major psychological and management breakthroughs of the last hundred years.
- Appreciate the main functional elements of HR practice.
- Understand the strategic drivers of change in relation to modern day HRM.
