Objective
After completing the course, the student will have the foundation for building his/her professional identity as a producer/cultural manager. The student will be able to relate his/her identity to occupational groups of cultural intermediaries. The student will have basic tools to develop working life and personnel skills to the level needed at professional work. The student will be able to recognise different role plays at work communities. The student will understand the expectations and needs for managerial knowledge in the field of cultural production. The student will be able to document professional growth and analyse it in written, visually and verbally. The student will know how to evaluate his/her strengths and development needs as a cultural manager and market one’s own know-how. The student will be motivated towards lifelong learning. The student will understand the meaning of self-evaluation as part of a portfolio process and professional identity. The student will have the skills to use the portfolio as a tool for developing expertise and professional identity.

Qualifications

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student identifies him/herself as a future expert in the professional field of cultural management and can document professional growth verbally, in written and visually. The student can express his/her strengths and weaknesses on a superficial level. The student knows the basic principles of portfolio work.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student is able to document and demonstrate his/her expertise verbally, in written and visually and reflect it to the needs of the field. The portfolio includes work samples. The student can reflect his/her own working experience to the field of his/her own expertise. The student can evaluate his/her competences and give constructive criticism and feedback to other students.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student recognizes his/her expertise on multiple levels and is able to identify professional roles in the field of professional cultural management. The student can analyse his/her competences and reflect it to the needs of the field. The student can demonstrate his/her expertise well using written, visual and verbal communication. The student has good skills for deep reflection and thinking and can express the results of these as part of the portfolio process.
