Objective

Students will understand the needs of different communities and can engage in design work with the users’ needs in mind. The students will learn the basics of programming and Unix environments, the basic principles of usability and testing, and the commonest testing methods. They will also learn about design theories, and will become familiar with the production process and its documentation. Students will gain an understanding of social networking services and their potential in digital media.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation. Grade depends on following aspects:
- participation activity in classes
- self-direction and activity in studies
- returning the assignments in time
- ability to apply different design methods
- reflection and material acquisition skills
- knowledge of basic programming principles
- knowledge of technologies used for interactive web services
