Graphic Design ToolsLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

The students will learn about the potential of pixel and vector graphic programs and be able to use their characteristics to solve graphic design assignments. The students will learn how to use such programs in order to produce print-ready material, taking into consideration any techical issues regarding printing as well as the requirements set by electronic media.

Content

- Pixel and vector graphic programs in graphic design
- Pixel image
- Vector image
- Basic typographical settings
- Finished work: size, resolution, colour space, profile and file format

Qualifications

The prerequisite is a course in IT Skills (3 cp).

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that student:
- participates classes in required extent
- completes assingments acceptably ans showig self-direction
- returns assignments in time
- has command of core course content and is able to apply it in one's own work
- is able to acquire information independently
- understands the usage of graphic design tools in design process
