Objective

Students will learn the most important conventions of written and oral professional communication and will be able to reflect on what they have learned, to categorise what they have learned and show what they have learned by means of texts and presentations relating to the study context. The students can manage the processes relating to information acquisition, categorisation and distribution. The students can act meaningfully in various interaction situation in student projects and apply what they know about communication in labour market contexts.

Content

- Document writing and text layout
- Writing related to studying and the student’s own learning Report, work journal, summary, portfolio, essay, exam answer
- Basics of information acquisition, and referencing conventions
- Main principles of online writing
- Persuasive speaking, debating and interaction in a group
- Planning of speech situations and illustrative material; lecture, seminar work and peer evaluation
- Presentation confidence and technique
- Negotiation and meeting conventions
- Workplace interaction skills

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Completing the course with a pass grade requires that a student has met the objectives of the course as defined in the course implementation.
