Conservation materials research 5ECTS

Aim
The aim of a course is to present materials research of conservation as a part of multidisciplinary heritology. Students will learn new developed materials research analytical methods, which have been applied for studying cultural historical objects and materials.

Content

Content
The course will contain both lectures and practical laboratory work. Such non- invasive, non- destructive and micro-methods and analytical techniques, which can give information regarding the elemental composition and molecular structure of heritage materials and their degradation with time will be discussed during the course. The course will provide background to several analytical techniques like: VIS-, FTIR/ ATR-, EDXRF-, Raman-, NMR-, LIB- spectroscopes.
