Theory of the Design ProcessLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

The students will learn the fundamentals of the global operating environment in the field of fashion and clothing. They will understand the meaning of the design process, concept design, and team work as a basis for the fashion business. The students will master the basic concepts of the field.

Content

The philosophical fundamentals of the field, the future forecasts as well as the values and attitudes and their affect on the garment are explored. The different stages, methods, and concepts of the design process are learned. The various duties of the design team as well as the meaning of the scheduling in the field will be focused on. A further focus is on marketing and trends.
