Objective

The student understands differences and similarities between academic research and development work done in organizations. The student understands the benefits from research based approach to development work.

The student knows and understands the assumptions that different paradigms make about knowledge, and especially the student understands the assumptions action research makes about knowledge formation and organizational learning.

The student understands the basic idea of qualitative research and is able to use the basic concepts of qualitative research. The student is aware of the different qualitative research methods and is able to further learn those methods independently.

The student ability to utilize knowledge of research methods when reading domestic and international literature has increased.
