Objective

The student knows the course of the European and Finnish art history and she/he will have a structured idea of the development of art in Europe.

The student will be able to identify the essential works of art, the main style periods and artists and the differences between style periods. The student is able to recognize and analyze the characteristic features of different time periods. The student will be able to use art historical resources.

Content

The history and the development of Western and European art. The essential works of art and the style periods of the European and Finnish art.

The European art and its historical and social context and significance.
