Research Methodology and WritingLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

This course is designed to introduce the student to the discipline of scholarly thinking.

After finishing the course the student will have a good command of the language required for the written part in his/her Bachelor's Thesis.

The student will be aware of different methods and research strategies and will be able to apply them in his/her own Bachelor's Thesis.

The student will review the principles of rewriting and summarising a text and focus on the language of argumentation and quotation techniques.

Content

The student will acquire information about the principles of research, methods, data acquiring, research strategies and their special features as well as use.

This course introduces the student to the stylistic requirements for his/her Bachelor's Thesis as well as quotation techniques, headings, structure and how to write a table of contents.
