Objective

Students get an overview of the future of the clothing industry, design and composition, and learn the basic concepts used in the industry.

Content

The student gets familiar with the philosophical basis of clothing, predictions for the future, and the influence of values and attitudes on clothing. Stages of the design process; Design methods and concepts; Tasks within a design team; Scheduling; Assignments for creative, original and unconventional solutions for clothing problems; Basic elements of composition for clothes: shape, volume, silhouette, proportions, lines, rhythm and details; Colour and material in composition; Design of a women's wardrobe; Design of collections for various figures and purposes; Fashion marketing and trend forecasting.
