Introduction to Documentary ProductionLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students learn gain an understanding of how a documentary film proceeds from idea to completed film and how production is sequenced. Students learn what occurs at different stages of production and the different duties and responsibilities involved. Students gain a basic knowledge of how to produce a documentary from an idea to a completed film, performing as independent members in small teams and what goes into the production of a small documentary and of the polytechnic's requirements concerning productions.

Documentary production process and its stages and division of duties within them. Drawing up a production plan and budget on the basis of a manuscript for a documentary film.
Copyright and documentary production.
Basic contracts and production culture at the polytechnic.
