Objective

After completing the course, the students are able to:
• take into account the requirements of environment, different use situations, safety and ease of dressing
when designing and purchasing clothing for children of all ages.
• take into account the physical, mental and social development needs of users.
• apply the standards for children's clothing to practice.
• apply their expertise when designing and identifying high-quality children's clothing.

Content

The different stages of development of children and their social, mental and physical characteristics. The challenges these stages and characteristics pose for dressing and clothing a child, as well as the outlook of the clothing. Basic principles of user-centered design. Overview of the children's wear markets. Children's wear standards. Designing a combinable and multipurpose children's wear collection and making guidelines for outsourced manufacturing.

Qualifications

Competencies corresponding to the goals of the following Fashion and Clothing modules:
Collection and Assortment Design; Clothing Materials and Responsibility.
