Descriptions

The curriculum of the degree programme in electronics.

The studies consist of:

- the common studies to all students of the programme during the first two years (123 cr)
- Metropolia - innovation project module (12 cr)
- four 12 credit professional study modules to be selected (48 cr)
- optional studies (12 cr)
- two 15 cr periods of industrial placement (30 cr)
- the final year project (thesis) (15 cr)

Development

Opetussuunnitelman kehitystyön yhteydessä tehtiin laajamittainen kyselytutkimus teollisuudessa sähkötekniikan ja elektroniikka-alan tulevaisuuden osaamistarpeista. Lisäksi osaamisperusteiden kartoittamisessa otettiin huomioon mm. TT:n keväällä 2010 julkaisema tutkimus näiden alojen tulevaisuudesta. Opetussuunnitelman osaamistarpeet perustuvat näihin tutkimuksiin ja ne katetaan pitkälti suuntaavissa opintomoduuleissa. Laaja-alainen sähkötekniikan ja elektroniikan alan pohjatieto (joka sinänsä on osaamistarve sinänsä katetaan kahden ensimmäisen vuoden opinnoilla, joiden pääasiallisena tarkoituksena on myös antaa tarvittava pohja suuntaavien moduulien (pääasialliset osaamistarpeet) opiskelulle.

Koulutusohjelman neuvottelukunta puolsi opetussuunnitelman hyväksymistä kokouksessaan 16.2.

Further information

The studies of the two first years of study are common to all the students in this programme.

During the third and fourth year the students have to complete four professional study modules (each lasting one study period), the innovation project module (one semester), two sessions of industrial placement and finally the final year project.

The studets have to as well complete 12 credits of optional studies, which may be taken whenever during the studies.

The schedule of the last two years depends heavily on the selection of the professional modules and the time selected for the two industrial placement periods and the innovation project. The second half of the fourth year is dedicated for the final year project.

It is possible to cover the industrial placement session during summer time between semesters.
