Profile of the programme
The aim of the programme is to develop a thorough understanding of the causes of pollution and the preventative actions available to minimise its impacts.

The programme will develop an excellent knowledge of Environmental Engineering and Technology as well as provide a strong multi-disciplinary understanding of Civil Engineering, Automation Measurement Systems and Environmental Management. Specialisation studies are focused on Renewable Energy Engineering and Environmental Construction Engineering. As an Environmental Engineer you will have responsibility for overall management of environmental issues, with the skills to operate and communicate internationally.

Key learning outcomes
The basic subjects of the Environmental Engineering programme mainly consist of natural sciences and introductory engineering. After the core requirement studies the student also understands the importance of international communication, business and cultural skills. Professional subjects focus on the prevention and control of environmental problems.
The main professional subjects are focused on the following areas:

- Environmental Technology
- Pollution Monitoring and Data Transferring
- Environmental Safety Management

Specialisation areas are:
- Renewable Energy Technology
- Water, waste and Environmental Engineering

Occupational profiles of graduates
A range of career paths are available for Environmental Engineers and work opportunities exist in various areas of the field, such as Design Engineering, Environmental Management, Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, and Environmental Consulting as well as providing environmental expertise in other areas.

Access to further studies
Access to Master's studies according to the entrance qualifications of the university

Further information

The core requirement studies are the same for everybody excluding language studies, which depend on the applicant's linguistic background.

Common professional studies are composed of four modules: Engineering Technology (21 cr)
Environmental Technology (19 cr)
Pollution Monitoring and Data Transferring (14 cr)
Environmental Management (13 cr)

The student selects from two 30 cr specialization alternatives,

* Renewable Energy Engineering (modules A+B)
* Water, Waste and Environmental Engineering (modules C+D)

The specialization studies are carried out on the third and fourth year.

The work placement can be done in two modules (15 +15 cr). The work placement can be carried out during a summer vacation.

The Bachelor's Thesis work is scheduled to be carried out in the 3rd and 4th period of the 4th study year. The thesis work can be carried out flexibly also earlier depending on the timing of the specialization studies.

The student can select freely 13 cr of elective studies to be included into the studies.
