Objective

After the course the student knows how to return of an investment for different energy related investments.

The student is familiar with the basics of energy economy concepts, such as subsidies, taxes, investment costs, o&m costs.

1. Concept of investment costs and operation & maintenance costs.

2. Subsidies and energy related income.

3. Energy related taxes.

1. The student knows the concept of investment costs and operation & maintenance costs.

2. The student is aware of subsidy systems for renewable energy investments.

3. The student understands the concept of energy related taxes and policies and their effect on investment.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

1. Student can perform simple LCC for studied simple energy system investment

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

1. Student can perform simple LCC for typical renewable energy investment.

2. Student can explain how costs are depending on approach and why cost differs depending on the viewpoint (society, industry, citizen).
