Objective

After the course the student knows different energy system levels and their complexity. The student recognizes basic energy related concepts and their connection to energy systems.

Content

This course includes energy systems in domestic, in municipal and in global level and the synergies between these. The course presents how energy systems are dependent on each other on different levels. The Energy Systems course explains the role of energy markets, environmental protection and energy politics in modern and future society. It also covers how fuels are utilized and what are the future trends of energy systems in the municipal, country and global level.

After the course the student knows different energy system levels and their complexity. The student recognizes basic energy related concepts and their connection to energy systems.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

After the course student knows how energy systems are linked to different functions of energy conversion and distribution. Student recognizes different measures that can steer the energy markets and use.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

After the course student has holistic approach to energy systems in different level and can see connection between local, country level and global trends in energy production, distribution and storage. Student recognizes and can apply different measures for creating simple energy scenarios.
