Objective

The student can evaluate and develop his/her abilities and working performance as an expert in the field of theatre and performance engineering. The student develops and useis his/her expertise by planning and/or executing a personal development project based on the development needs of an organization. The student recognizes and justifies the development needs and uses his/her skills in problem solving, cooperation and communication in the development process. The student can report and present the process and results of the development project. The purpose of the development project is to deepen and widen the professional expertice of the student.

Content

Executing a personal development project in an organization. In addition to the practical development work the course may consist of lecutres, workshops and group work.

The course requires at least 80% attendance. The procedure for replacing the absence is agreed with the teacher in charge of the course unit. The schedule of the course can be found in Lukkari. Assessment criteria, good (3)

The personal development project is executed, reported and presented. The student evaluates his/her own role in the project and the working context of the development work. The student demonstrates expertise in the presentation, and the language and appearance of the report are appropriate.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The personal development project is executed, reported and presented. The student evaluates analytically and critically his/her own role in the project, the activities of the organization and the prerequisites of the development work. The development project is significant in its width or especially challenging or demonstrates special merits. The student demonstrates expertise in the presentation, and the language and appearance of the report are appropriate.

Qualifications

The participant is familiar with the use of theatre and performance technology in various contexts, knows the key safety regulations and practices in theatre and performance engineering and has sufficient knowledge and skills in the use of systems of stage and performance technology required in the project.
