Objective

The student
• can design 3D models and assemblies
• understands the logic of 3D modelling and is able to utilise the 3D design in simulation, in various analyses and in manufacturing technologies
• can create technical documents and reports.

Content

• 3D modelling of components and assemblies
• Creation of technical drawings, assembly drawings and bill of material of 3D designs
• Correct selection of material for the 3D components
• Simulations, simple FEM analyses and applications in certain industries
• Product Data Management (PDM)
• Creation of manufacturing tools in 3D

Evaluation scale

0-5

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The student
• can create a model using 3D tools from simple components in their field
• can determine the centre of gravity and mass of the modelled component after having defined the material properties of the part
• is able to create a bill of material of the assembly and an assembly drawing
• knows the basics of CAE simulation
• is able to add data to technical documents.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The student
• is able to create a model with 3D tools of the more demanding components of their field
• is able to use different materials in their own assemblies
• is able to parameterise their own models
• can create an exploded view of an assembly
• knows the basics of CAE simulation
• is able to produce adequate technical documentation.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
• is able to create a model with 3D tools of demanding components in their field
• is able to parameterise models and influence the assembly view through parameterisation
• can use CAE simulation to analyse their own models
• is able to produce complete technical documents and create new ones.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student
• can create a model using 3D tools from simple components in their field
• can determine the centre of gravity and mass of the modelled component after having defined the material properties of the part
• is able to create a bill of material of the assembly and an assembly drawing
• knows the basics of CAE simulation
