Objective

The student can explain concepts of definite integral and antiderivative. They can evaluate definite integrals using graph, numerical methods and the fundamental theorem of calculus. The student can apply integrals in geometric and physical problems. They can identify a differential equation and solve simple differential equations. They are able to model mathematical and physical phenomena with differential equations.The student is familiar with basic financial calculations.

Content

Concepts of definite integral and antiderivative. Evaluating definite integrals using graph, numerical methods and the fundamental theorem of calculus. Exploitation of integration: geometrical and engineering applications. Introduction to differential equations, modelling phenomena with differential equations. Solving differential equations. Interest and index calculations. If statement and logical operators.

The students are able to apply the fundamental concepts and methods associated with the course to more demanding problems related to course contents.

The students are able to recognize the fundamental concepts and methods associated with the course and are able to solve simple problems.
