PRINCIPLES OF BUILDING A CURRICULUM
A curriculum is built taking into account the width of competence in the field of fashion and clothing as well as the increasing digitalization and internationalization. The courses facilitate competence that can be annually built up in the key areas of fashion and clothing. Unique choices are thus present in the competence areas related to designing, manufacturing and business.
FLEXIBILITY AND DIVERSITY OF THE CURRICULUM
The wide-ranging education in the field of fashion and clothing provides the students with a solid foundation for their competence in the following studies: future prediction and design competence; technical planning and product competence; competence in form and quality control; competence in business and network skills; as well as competence in research and development.
The degree of the Bachelor of Culture and Arts in fashion and clothing facilitates an alternative specialization either in clothing business or collection and assortment planning or in form and quality control.
The individual work life project, internship and alternative elective or optional studies guide the students to orient themselves towards the chosen sector in the field of fashion and clothing. We also offer multidisciplinary innovation studies and elective courses conducted together with the business sector. These studies are also available for students of other degree programs.

Development
Vaatetusalan opetussuunnitelmassa on muokattu vaihtoehtoisten ammattiopintojen tarjontaa jakamalla laajat opintokokonaisuudet pienemmiksi, profiloitumista edistäviksi opintojaksoiksi. Nämä muutokset on tehty työelämän edellyttämän monipuolisen osaamisen edistämiseksi ja opiskelijoilta saadun palautteen pohjalta. Profiloituminen edesauttaa osaltaan opiskelijoiden erikoistumista ja työllistymistä alalle. Vaihtoehtoisten opintojen tarjonnasta opiskelija valitsee yhteensä 25 op; 3. opintovuonna 15 op ja 4. opintovuonna 10 op. Opintojakso toteutetaan, jos edellytetty ryhmäkoko saadaan täyteen.
Further information
• Kopioitu opetussuunnitelmasta KXI17S1
• Muutokset opintokokonaisuudessa Vaihtoehtoiset ammattiopinnot 25 op: kolme laajaa opintojaksoa on kukin jaettu kahdeksi uudeksi, pienemmäksi opintojaksoksi.
1) Kylmäpukeutuminen 10 op > Ulkoilu- ja urheiluvaatteiden mallistosuunnittelu 5 op ja Ulkoilu- ja urheiluvaatteiden tekninen suunnittelu 5 op.
2) Erityisvaatetus 10 op > Työ- ja erityisvaatesuunnittelu 5 op ja Työ- ja erityisvaatteiden tekninen suunnittelu 5 op.
3) Lastenvaatesuunnittelu ja - kaavoitus 10 op > Lastenvaatesuunnittelu 5 op ja Lastenvaatteiden kaavoitus ja ohjeistus 5 op.
• Muutokset opintokokonaisuudessa Työharjoittelu 30 op: opintojaksot Työharjoittelu I ja II > opintojaksot Työharjoittelu I - IV. Kaksi uutta opintojaksoa helpottaa työharjoittelujen hallinnointia ja opiskelijoiden opintojen edistymisen seurantaa.
• Valinnaisen opintojakson (15 op) osaamistavoitteiden ja lisätietojen tekstiä päivitetty.
• Lisäksi vaihdettu Business- ja verkosto-osaamisen opintojaksojen sijoittumista eri opintovuosille.
• Opetussuunnitelman kuvaustietoja päivitetty vastaamaan opintojaksomuutoksia ja rakennetta järjestelty.
