Development

The curriculum work has been done in cooperation with business companies and consultants over the past two – three years, mainly carried out by the former Director for Master’s degree programmes at the Business School. The ICT cluster of Metropolia joined in planning and the result is two parallel Master’s degree programmes with a bit different emphasis for the two entry lines (Bachelors of Business Administration and Bachelors of Engineering). The length of studies for the engineers is 60 ECTS whereas it is 90 ECTS in the business programme.

International partners have been approached in order to find suitable ways of cooperation for adult students studying part-time. The Berlin School of Economics and Law is a key partner interested in getting into deeper collaboration once the degree programme has started its pilot year. The European Union with its eSkills Development scheme is also a partner. Existing contacts with Seoul National University of Technology and St. Petersburg University of Economics and Engineering are expected to bring interesting collaboration opportunities for the participants as well as the teaching faculty.

The Advisory Board of the Business School of Helsinki Metropolia UAS has approved of the curriculum (February 2011).
