Descriptions
Welfare technology programme directs the engineering towards the practise of wellbeing and welfare applications. The programme is highly application-oriented, starting from human wellbeing. The students are encouraged to interest in working with various social contacts but also with emphasis of realisable possibilities of applying new technology.
The technical starting point is Information and Communications Technology and the possible applications are e.g. remote diagnistics, -monitoring, and patient information systems. Basics of electronics, mechanics and design help to realise new applications for disabled persons.
Foundations of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and patient care are introduced. The welfare technology engineer develops health care systems, devices and new services in a multi-diciplinary teams.
The work prospects of this specialisation look very promising in the nearcoming years.
