Descriptions

The Master's Degree Programme in Business Development expands and deepens the business competences needed in demanding expert, development and/or managerial positions. Upon graduation, the student shows evidence of being capable of analyzing business environment and his/her own business sector, as well as one's ability to plan and implement demanding change project in business life or other organisations, with sufficient research approach. He/she is able to act as a change agent and in superior positions.

The Master’s Degree Programme in Business Development consists of
- Advanced professional studies, 30 ECTS
* Development Competence, 15 ECTS
* Innovated Management, 15 ECTS
- Strengthening Leadership Competence, 20 ECTS
- Elective studies 10 ECTS
- Master’s Thesis 30 ECTS

Advanced studies will increase the student's analytical and methodological competencies, and management and development expertise. The student chooses the alternative advanced studies according to his/her career development needs, alternatively in the field of management and leadership. The student may expand or improve their skills with elective studies. The student fills out an individual study plan (ISP), which an individual interaction and leadership skills inventory aids to compile.

The Master's Thesis is a development task, carried out as a project in the student's workplace or other partner organization. Its progress is reported in seminars throughout the study period. The maturity test is the last separate assignment of the Master's Thesis process.

The degree programme is carried out as part-time and is intended to be completed alongside work. The contact sessions are organised mainly during weeknights and on some occasions also on a Friday evening and Saturday combination. Optionality, combined with an intensive thesis work also allows full-time study. The duration of the studies is 2 years.

Development

Tutkinto-ohjelma valmentaa opiskelijoilta työpaikkansa liiketoiminnan kehittämiseen nyt ja tulevaisuudessa. Opetussuunnitelman moduulit, kehittäjäosaaminen ja innovatiivinen johtajuus, antavat opiskelijoille välineitä henkilökohtaiseen kasvuun ja käytännön työkaluja liiketoiminnan uudistamiseen.

Muiden syventävien opintojen tarjotin päivitetään vastaamaan liike-elämän tarpeita. Tarjonnassa on myös englanninkielisiä opintojaksoja, joista osa toteutetaan kesäopintoina. Quality Management -opintojakso antaa valmiuksia Laatukeskuksen Quality Manager -sertifikaatin saavuttamiseen.
