Objective

Learning objectives: The student will be familiarized with the significance of clothing in the human communication system. The student will know the qualities of a western dress in different periods and will be able to use his knowledge in his design work.

Content

Core content:
The module consists of two aspects of fashion: Psychology and sociology of clothing (2 credits) and History of Fashion (3 credits).
- Psychological and sociological viewpoints.
-Clothing as a communication medium: influencing by dressing, dressing in social interaction. -Lifestyles and clothing.
-Historical periods of fashion, their manifestation and development in Europe.
-Fashion houses and 20th century European designers.
-Traditional dressing in different countries.
