Objective

Learning objectives:
The student perceives the human physiology and its implication for clothing design as well as understands the functionality of the materials and the structure of a garment and their effect on one's satisfaction, health and capacity. The student will know the practices of product and material testing and its significance in consumer-inspired product development.

Core content:
The basic terminology of clothing physiology and how to utilize it in the designing process of functional clothing. The significance of body temperature regulation. Research methods and standardization of clothing physiology. Physical ergonomics in clothing design.
