Descriptions
Muotoilun koulutusohjelma johtaa muotoilualan ammattikorkeakoulututkintoon, jonka laajuus on nuorisoasteella 240 opintopistettä (4 vuotta). Aikuiskoulutuksena suoritetaan 210 opintopistettä (3,5, vuotta) ja tutkinnon laajuus, aiemmat opinnot hyväksi luettuina, on 240 opintopistettä.
Tutkintonimike on muotoilija AMK.
Muotoilun koulutusohjelma antaa laajat valmiudet toimia muotoilijana, suunnittelijana ja alan monipuolisena erikoisosaajana muotoilualan eri työtehtävissä. Koulutuksen tavoitteet perustuvat suunnittelu-, tuotanto-, muotoiluprosessin- ja visuaalisen osaamisen hallintaan sekä ammatti-identiteetin rakentamiseen. Yhteistyöllä liiketalouden klusterin kanssa tavoitellaan asiantuntevaa liiketalousosaamista muotoilun eri suuntautumisvaihtoehtojen tarpeisiin.
Opiskelu Muotoilun koulutusohjelmassa on työelämälähtöistä ja kansainvälistä. Työelämälähtöiset ja poikkialaiset yhteistyöprojektit opiskelun projektiopinnoissa tuovat tunnetuksi työelämän käytänteet ja mahdollisuudet

Muotoilun koulutusohjelman opetussuunnitelma on osaamisperustainen.Kaikilla neljällä suuntautumisvaihtoehdolla on yhtenäiset osaamistavoitteet.
Opetussuunnitelmaa on kehitetty muotoilualan neuvottelukunnalta 2008 saadun palautteen pohjalta.Vaatetusalan suuntautumisvaihtoehdon osalta on kuultu myös vaatetusalojen neuvottelukuntaa. Opetuskokonaisuuksien sisältöjä tullaan jatkossakin työstämään alan kehittämistarpeiden, neuvottelukuntien ja projektikumppaneiden kanssa käytävän osaamistavoitteellisen keskustelun pohjalta.
