Weaving Techniques ILaajuus (9 ECTS)

Objective

After the course the student will master the basics of designing a woven fabric. He/she will know the basic concepts of theory of binding and is able to calculate the demand of threads for each weaving project. The students master either handloom or computer-assisted loom weaving so that they will be able to independently build a warp and weave different binding textures. The student gets familiarized with the most common tools used in weaving. He/she is able to apply theory into practical work and visual and technical problem solving.
