Objective

Students analyse important development needs from the perspective of society and the workplace environment. They are aware of the principles of professional R&D work and the significance of evidence-based approach to elderly care. Students are capable of comprehending and utilising national and international research on ageing and elderly care. They recognise different phases of R&D work and know how to draw up a research plan. All their actions are based on a code of research ethics. Students are able to justify and assess their perspective on the philosophy of science in their work.

Content

Premises for professional R&D work. Concept analysis and systematic literature review of R&D areas in gerontology and elderly care. National and international R&D work in elderly care. Basics of philosophy of science. Basics and principal methods of professional development projects and research activities. Data acquisition and source criticism. Drawing up R&D plan. Research ethics.
