Objective

Students become familiar with the main social benefits targeted for the elderly as well as social, health, rehabilitation and physical exercise services. They are aware of the significance of drawing up care, rehabilitation and service plans as well as objectives for organising services and care for the elderly. Students are familiar with the principles of documentation and utilisation of various electronic systems in documentation. Practice 1 cr.

Content

Service structure in social and health care. Public and private organisations producing services as well as services provided by the third sector. Legislation related to social insurance and benefits as well as social, health, rehabilitation and physical exercise services. Application of legislation when granting benefits and organising services. Structure and content of rehabilitation, care and service plans. Documentation. Practice 1 cr.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

Students use the appropriate core concepts as well as make choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They recognise the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.

Students’ actions follow the rules and instructions given, and they use working methods appropriately and safely.

Students work according to the professional ethics of their own field, and they act responsibly as group members.

Students analyse the relationships between appropriate core concepts as well as justify their choices using the knowledge base of their own professional field. They analyse the prerequisites and consequences of their own actions.

Students act according to the rules and instructions given in their operating environment, and they use working methods appropriately and safely.

Students work according to the professional ethics of their own field, and they act flexibly as group members.
