Use of Groups and Methods of ActivationLaajuus (5 ECTS)

Objective

Students know the central approaches and phenomena of group supervision and different uses and possibilities of a goal-oriented group. Students are able to apply methods of activation to group supervision and to act as group supervisors in educational and rehabilitative groups. Students learn to recognise their own ways of group supervision and to understand the meaning of the group to its members.

Content

Theoretical frameworks and central phenomena in group supervision. Different uses and possibilities of a group. Use of methods of activation (e.g. sociodrama) in group supervision. Supervising educational and rehabilitative groups. Ethical issues of group supervision.

Qualifications

Most of the study units of the Basic Studies and Work Placement 1 must be completed.
