Objective
Students learn the Aims, legislation, service provision and various working environments of child protection work and understand how societal factors influence the wellbeing of children and young people. Students are aware of the national and international risks that threaten the wellbeing of children and young people and are able to critically evaluate the service provision. Students know the legislation concerning young people. Students understand the factors influencing the lives of young people and understand the importance of an empowering approach as promoting social participation among young people.
Content
Children's rights and at the national level, in the UN, EU, service provision of child protection, working environments and actors. National strategies regulating child protection work, risks and wellbeing of children, challenges of child protection work, evaluation of the service provision and how well it meets service users' needs.
Youth law. Young people and change in society. Youth as a stage of life and youth cultures.
