Basics of cell biology and biochemistryLaajuus (3 ECTS)

Objective

Students are able to explain the chemical processes of cells and the basic structures of macromolecules as well as their share in maintaining the biological structures and functions. They can describe the main function of enzymes and justify their importance to the function of the human body. Students can explicate the structure and significance of DNA and RNA as well as the biosynthesis of proteins and the regulation related to it.
