Objective
After completing the course, students are able to compare the properties of different eye charts for visual acuity, measure visual acuity and tell how to apply the measurements in the optometrist’s work. They are familiar with the theoretical basis of subjective tests used for determining refractive error as well as retinoscopy. Students can describe the general operating principles of autorefractors and tonometers and identify physiological and acceptable measurement tolerances.
