Health Coaching and Oral Health Care of Children in a TeamLaajuus (4 ECTS)

Objective

The student is able to define oral health of children coming from different cultures. S/he is able to interpret the changes in oral and dental health. S/he is able to guide the child and his/her family in oral health care. The student is able to plan, implement and evaluate individually currently used early treatments of caries and gingival diseases. S/he masters the documentation of treatment information and documentation practices. S/he is able to work in oral health care team at the Oral Health Care Teaching Clinic.

Content

Oral health care practicing of children coming from different cultures in Oral Health Care Clinic
• Oral health examination and detection of infective changes
• Guidance of the child and family
• Early treatments of caries and gingival diseases
• Electronic recording for patient data system
• Duties in administration and instrument maintenance
