Osaamistavoitteet
The student is an active member in informal and formal meetings in English. The student can think of different types of meetings for different purposes, and function as a contributing member of the team. As for negotiating, the student can plan, conduct and come up with results in a negotiation, considering the cultures of participants and their different modes of communication practice.
Sisältö
Effective meetings: types, purpose, documents, language, constructive contributer roles, responsibilities and language.
Negotiations: preparation, phases, procedure, outcomes.
Negotiations language: positive mindset, questions, focus, dealing with negative issues, bargaining. Language of tentative suggestions, hedging, concession, compromise.
Cultural customs for negotiating.
