Objective
The students become familiar with scientific terminology. The student will learn about the structure and location of human organs in the thorax, abdomen, pelvis, head, neck, spine and limbs, and deepen their understanding of the where the key arteries and veins run. The students will learn to locate structures in these areas on a living person and to use their anatomy skills in ultrasound, computer tomography and magnetic examinations.
Content
Scientific terminology.
Structure, location and interrelationships between organs in the thorax, abdomen, pelvis, head, back and limbs.
The most important skeletal landmarks and anatomic plates and the key scientific terminology.
Qualifications
Anatomy and Physiology 3 cr
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The students know about anatomical terminology. The students know about organs, their basic structures and positions in the chest, abdomen and head. The students know how anatomical structures are structures are located in a living person.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The students are able to use scientific terminology. The students are able to explain the structure of and show the position of organs in the chest, abdomen and head. The students are able to locate anatomical structures on a living person and to utilise this skill in using various imaging methods.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The students are fluent in scientific terminology and can apply them in their future studies. The students are able to explain without difficulty the structure of and show the position of organs in the chest, abdomen and head. They can apply what they have learned in their future studies. The students are able to locate anatomical structures on a living person without difficulty and to utilise this skill in using various imaging methods.
