Objective

The students will learn about social the organisation of health care steering, planning and service system. They will also understand the ethical foundation and its significance in social services and health care. Moreover, the students will learn the principles of basic x-ray examinations and data protection in health care. The students will learn about patient guidance in health care.

Content

The students will learn about the value base and philosophy that guide their work, the basic concepts of radiography and radiotherapy, and the key pieces of legislation related to radiography and radiotherapy, and also the national guidelines regarding social welfare and health care. Students will also learn about the position and rights of social welfare and health care customers and legislation regarding health care professionals. Students will understand the foundation of a customer-oriented approach and the importance of patient guidance in health care. They are able to describe a basic x-ray examination process. Radiographer students acquire the capacity for lifelong learning and gain experience in professional decision-making.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

The students understand the value base and basic concepts of radiography and radiotherapy, and the legislation concerning radiography and radiotherapy.

Assessment criteria, good (3)

The students know a great deal about the value base, basic concepts and legislation of radiography and radiotherapy and are able to view radiography and radiotherapy as part of overall health care.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The students fully understands the value base and basic concepts of radiography and radiotherapy, are able to view radiography and radiotherapy as part of overall health care and can apply what they have learned, and explain their choices, an a variety of exercises.
