Objective

Students understand the key concepts and laws of chemistry and phenomena based on organic chemistry. Students familiarise themselves with the systematics and special characteristics of organic compounds. Students become capable of understanding applications used in their own professional field and biosciences.

Content

Classification of substances, formation of bonds, naming of compounds, chemical compounds, chemical reactions, acids and bases (pH calculations), buffer solutions, oxidisation and reduction; hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon derivates and special characteristics related to these.
